Royal Humane Society award for BCP employee.

BCP are very pleased to announce that Mel Bolding, Youth Worker at our Electric Palace site has been awarded a Royal Humane Society Resuscitation Certificate for his part in reviving a teenager who collapsed while on an outdoor activity in Mid Wales back in March. Mel, with three others maintained CPR for over 30 mins pending the arrival of the West Midlands Air Ambulance to a remote Welsh hillside. The certificate signed by Princess Alexandra will be presented at a ceremony later this year.

Blakenall by the Sea! No, it's not a misprint and the sun has'nt affected your eyes! The Over 50's Project team led by Tracy Gould are transforming Blakenall Community Centre car park into a beach themed event on Saturday 22 August 2009. The event aimed at all ages runs from 1030 until 3pm. A real community event with many traditional side stalls and of course the good old British burger and hot dogs. Please note that the Community Centre Car park will be closed to all vehicular traffic throughout the event and parking is available nearby.

50+ Fitness Sessions £1.00 per person

Monday 1pm - 2pm at Blakenall Community Centre. An opportunity for the over 50's to exercise with a qualified fitness instructor.  This session is designed to help you with general fitness and mobility.

Line Dancing £2.00 per person

A very popular session running between 7.30 and 8.30 pm on a Monday evening. Cost per person £2.00. This session restarts on Monday 21 September 2009.

Friday, Fit and Fifty! (and FREE!)

Probably our most popular session run in conjunction with NHS Walsall Physical Activity Team, Join Janine or Becky or Ashley on Friday mornings 10am - 11am at Blakenall Community Centre for this fun fitness session which is absolutely FREE. Not only get fit, meet new friends as well!

Old Time Melodies £1.00 per person

Got a couple of hours to spare? Fancy a sing-a-long to some of those fabulous old tunes of yesteryear and not so long ago. Come and join us at Blakenall Community Centre 2pm -4pm,  Tuesday 22 September 2009 at Blakenall Community Centre. Cost: £1.00 per person

Ballroom Dancing Taster Sessions (6 weeks) FREE

Coming to Blakenall Community Centre 3-4pm on Friday 16 October 2009 for the next five consecutive weeks. Slip on your dancing shoes and who knows, you could be the next 'Come Dancing' stars!

Over 50's Forum  - Annual General Meeting : FREE

Your chance to have your say, make a difference and find out what is going on for the Over 50's in Bloxwich and Blakenall. 6pm Thursday 24 September 2009 at Blakenall Community Centre.

QUIZ NIGHT - £1.00 per person, teams of 6 max.

If you like quizzes you'll love these. Come as part of a team or come along and join up with others to make at team.
